Family Portrait Sessions

Family portrait sessions are the perfect way to capture the beautiful bonds between those you love most. Family portrait sessions are an investment in documenting your loved ones for years to come. These special images only become more priceless with time and as children grow and change.
Family portrait packages are $450 and include 60 minutes of shooting time in a local, outdoor setting of your choice. Family sessions take place in the hour before sunset, or “golden hour,” to provide for the most flattering lighting. These sessions provide clients with a varied gallery of both posed and candid shots. Within three weeks of the session, clients will receive a completed online gallery with 20 high resolution, artistically edited images. All images are edited artfully and carefully by this photographer. No editing is ever outsourced as we believe that this is half of the magic that we bring to your experience! The images are provided in both color and black and white copies for a total of 40 images. Your image release is included with the cost of this package and there is no obligation to purchase prints from Tamsin Photography, ever. However, when it comes time to make prints I am here to help in the process and to offer advice should you need it!
If you decide that you would like more than 20 edited images, you have the opportunity to purchase additional edits at a rate of $10 per portrait.
Planning for your family portrait session:
Coordinating clothing for family members is an important part of making your images cohesive and beautiful. Many families find it helpful to choose two or three colors that compliment one other, then use accessories and clothing items that tie into that color scheme. Not sure which colors to choose? If you plan to hang images from your shoot in your home then choose colors to compliment your decor! I recommend Joyfolie, Lulus, Target, Old Navy, and Dillard’s.
Moms- get your perfect portrait outfit FIRST, then base other family members off of what you love. This makes planning outfits a lot easier! Kids and significant others are easy to coordinate.
It is always suggested that clients avoid clothing with large logos, any writing, neon colors or other pictures as they can be distracting in the portraits or can cause color casting. We don’t want you to look neon yellow!
Arrive a few minutes early to ensure that you will have the full shooting time available to you. The sunset waits for no one! Seriously.
It is best to get children dressed at the shooting location just before their session begins to avoid last-minute spills or other messes before your session.
Please do not eat or feed children colored foods of candies before the session. We don’t want blue lips, Cheeto teeth, etc.
Always arrive with hair and make up ready.
Individuals who wear tradition lens sunglasses are encouraged to remove them or to wear glasses with clear lenses to avoid the appearance that they are the only person wearing sunglasses. We want to see your beautiful face and that includes your eyes!
Please be sure that you only wear sheer clothing if you are comfortable being seen through your clothing in the images.
Please do not wear exposed undergarments unless you want your boxers, bra, thong, etc to be visible in the images.
We always suggest that clients wear full but natural make up for timeless results.
Long hair may blow around a lot, especially on the beaches. Please consider this as you style your hair and your children’s hair.
If you are booking a beach session YOU WILL GET WET (and that’s the fun part)! Please bring a towel and comfy change of clothing for the ride home or an alternate outfit if you plan to go out after your session. There may or may not be a beach shower, depending on the location chosen. Some of the best shots of the night always happen in and near the ocean, so it’s worth it! Plan for this to be an experience beyond just standing on the beach!
On the day of your session we will reach out to do a weather check with you if the forecast isn’t looking good. Please list the best contact number on your contract for this purpose.
You can leave the posing to us! After 8 years in the professional photography field we know the best poses and the ways to make your family look amazing. Family photography is sooooo much more than standing in a straight line and smiling! Trust us to direct you and take control for the absolute best results!
Additional Fees:
Travel to areas outside of Brevard County - $50 per hour of travel to and from the location of choice
Parties over six people- $50 increase in total package cost for every additional four people
